We’ve been reading your feedback and wanted to give you an update on what we’re doing to address your concerns about our Combo Saver feature.
For a bit of background, a few months ago we changed the way money is deposited in Plum, grouping autosaves together in one weekly payment, which we call the Combo Saver.
We did this for a number of reasons. We had a lot of customer feedback about too many payments and notifications, meaning we needed to bring everything together in one place. The Combo Saver also allows us to reduce business costs so we can continue to run a free service for customers for many years to come.
We knew this change would be noticeable for many of our customers, particularly those who have been with Plum since the Messenger days. But we felt reassured that, as the algorithm itself wasn’t changing and the overall amount saved would stay the same, Plumsters would adapt to the Combo Saver over time.
What we’ve come to realise is that for some of you, this change has made a bigger impact. We’ve read some concerns about Plum saving less, getting too close to overdraft or worries about not having enough money left to make it through the next week.
We hear these concerns and are taking them very seriously. Everyone should feel that Plum can be trusted with their money! We’re therefore currently working on an action plan to improve the experience of Combo Saver for customers. This includes:
- Better safeguards to make sure you can keep saving without going into your overdraft.
- Better UI in the app to show how the algorithm is saving for you individually.
Changes won’t come overnight, but we’re on it and will keep you updated on our progress. In the meantime, please let us know via support (email@example.com) if you have been disadvantaged by this change and we will do our best to help.
